The Word of Inner Authority
Matthew 8:5-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus offers to heal the centurion's servant. The centurion expresses faith that a spoken word can heal from distance.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, the centurion is not a man petitioning a distant God but a mirror of your own inner state. He speaks not of worthiness but of alignment: I AM under authority, and the word I speak has power because I live in a consciousness that knows its own command. The healing here is not a magical distant event but a demonstration of your inner decree. The word spoken by Jesus becomes your own when you accept that there is only one power in you, the I AM, acting through your imagination. When you say speak the word only, you are asked to perform the inner act of imagining the state fulfilled. The servant's suffering corresponds to any condition in your life that longs to be rearranged by a truthful decree. The centurion's humility is not weakness; it is discernment: you do not seek to perform miracles from a separate self, you align with the authority already present within. Then the apparent distance collapses; the healing is the natural consequence of believing your word and dwelling in the reality you desire.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled. State I AM healing power within and speak the word now, and allow the healing to unfold in your experience.
