Calm In The Storm Within
Matthew 8:23-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus and his disciples sail into a fierce storm; fear grips the disciples as they wake him. He rebukes the winds, and the sea becomes calm.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the ship is your embodied life, the waves the changing thoughts, and the fear a scattered state of consciousness. The disciples’ alarm is a momentary disconnection from the I AM, the aware Presence that never leaves itself. The sleeping Christ within is the constant awareness that does not move with the weather, for it knows itself as the ruler of all inner weather. When the cry, 'save us,' rises, it is the mind awakening to the belief in separation; the answer is not outside but within as the one you truly are. Then the I AM commands the storm by simply arising as true consciousness, and the wind and sea yield to the authority of your awareness. To spectators, the miracle appears as external power; to you, it is your internal recognition that no storm can prevail where you know yourself as the I AM. Your present state dissolves fear and reveals the great calm that was always there, waiting for your acknowledgment.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine stepping into the boat of your life. Assume the I AM as your immediate awareness and feel the calm flooding your senses.
