Inner Healing at Peter's House

Matthew 8:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 8 in context

Scripture Focus

14And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
Matthew 8:14-15

Biblical Context

Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law; the fever leaves her, she rises, and begins to minister to them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here, the scene is not a distant event but a photograph of your own consciousness. Peter's house stands for your inner state; the mother-in-law embodies a loving, feminine wisdom within you that has grown feverish with fear and habit. The fever is the restless belief in separation from your vitality. When Jesus—the I AM within—touches her hand, the fever recedes, for awareness has laid hold of the mind. The healing is not a deed done to you but a restoration of alignment: energy returns, perception clears, and she rises to minister again. Observe that restoration erupts into service: healed energy is outwardly expressed as care for others. This is your inner covenant fulfilled: when you awaken to the true teacher inside you, disturbance dissolves and your power to serve returns instantly. The miracle is the re-membering of consciousness to its source, a present-tense act of awareness.

Practice This Now

Practice now: close your eyes, repeat I AM health now, feel the touch of awareness on your mind, and imagine your inner 'mother-in-law' rising into service. Let the feeling of wholeness come, and proceed today from this restored energy.
