Inner Father, Abundant Provision

Matthew 7:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 7 in context

Scripture Focus

9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 7:9-11

Biblical Context

The passage contrasts human parents with the heavenly Father, who freely gives good gifts to those who ask.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this verse the Father is not outside you but within; your life is a state of awareness you can cultivate. The bread you seek is the idea that sustains your sense of worth; the stone or serpent are fears and substitutions born of the belief in separation. When you ask, you are not petitioning a distant being but shifting your inner state, aligning with the I AM that already provides. To Neville, ask means assume and dwell in the assumption of fullness until the outer world echoes that reality. The Father in heaven is your continuous, unconditioned presence; good gifts arrive when you live from that consciousness, not from lack. If you cling to lack or fear, you invite counterfeit gifts; when you rest in the knowing of divine provisioning, your life rearranges to reflect it. Practically, practice the feeling of already having what you request, and watch as events adjust to your inner state.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already supplied. Silently affirm I am the I AM, and provision flows through me now, and feel the relief as the imagined good comes into awareness.
