Read Matthew 7 in context

Scripture Focus

17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7:17-19

Biblical Context

Matthew 7:17-19 teaches that a healthy inner state produces good fruit, while a corrupt inner state cannot yield good fruit; outer results reveal the inner condition.

Neville's Inner Vision

Interpret Matthew 7:17-19 as a map of consciousness. The tree is your inner condition—the state of I AM you repeatedly dwell in. When your predominant state is good, your thoughts pull toward good ends, your feelings support right action, and your life yields fruit aligned with harmony. A corrupt state cannot produce true fruit, and a good state cannot yield bad fruit; the outer results testify to your inner state. The fire and the hewing down are not punishments but disclosures: what you have hidden within becomes visible so you may revise it at the root. In Neville’s practice, the key is to stop judging others and begin by assuming the reality of your desired state, speaking as if it already is you: I AM this which I seek. By dwelling in that I AM-filled feeling, you change the inner tree and, therefore, all the fruit you see. Trust the law: the outer world follows the inward conviction you keep alight in imagination.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In five minutes, assume the state you desire—feel it now as if it already exists, and let your posture and voice reflect it. Repeat I AM until doubt dissolves and the fruit in your life begins to appear.
