The Narrow Gate Within

Matthew 7:13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 7 in context

Scripture Focus

13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:13

Biblical Context

Matthew 7:13 contrasts the broad, easy path with the narrow gate. It warns that many follow the wide road to destruction, while the true path requires inward turning and discernment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Enter ye in at the strait gate: the gate is a state of consciousness, not a place. The wide gate and broad way are habitual beliefs that life is external and governed by fear, lack, and desire. The many who go thereat are choosing a vibration of separation; the strait gate demands a deliberate act of inner revision—an unwavering assumption in the I AM that you are already where you wish to be. When you imagine and feel it real as if it were true now, you align with the fulfilled life and withdraw your attention from the old story. The law of consciousness declares that events follow the inner state; destruction is simply the death of the old self and the birth of a new one who walks through the inward door. The gate opens for the faithful inner witness who refuses to concede that external facts are final. Stay loyal to the inner image, and you will pass through into living truth.

Practice This Now

Practice tonight: assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled as already yours. Sit quietly, repeat 'I AM free now,' and visualize a scene where you act from wholeness. Hold the feeling for five minutes, then carry that inner alignment into your day.
