Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Matthew 5:7 says the merciful are blessed because they will receive mercy; mercy flows from an inner disposition into outer experience.
Neville's Inner Vision
Mercy is not a deed you perform on the world; it is the state you assume in the I AM. If you would have mercy from life, assume you already possess it. Revise any judgment you hold against another or yourself, and feel it real as a warm, forgiving current flowing through your heart. When you imagine yourself merciful, you align with the law of consciousness that says your inner state becomes outer events. The verse does not promise punishment avoided, but mercy received in kind because you have granted it to the within. So see your sister, your enemy, and your own fault through the radiance of compassion; bless them, release resentment, and dwell in the feeling of forgiveness. The mercy you give to another is the mercy you claim for yourself, for you and your world are one I AM, one stream of awareness creating experience. Thus, the merciful are blessed, for they obtain mercy by living from the inner mercy they already are.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I am merciful. Forgive and bless a person in your life and feel the mercy in your chest; let that feeling radiate until your outer scene reflects it.
