Simple Speech, Clear Reality

Matthew 5:37 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 5 in context

Scripture Focus

37But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Matthew 5:37

Biblical Context

The verse urges simple speech: answer with yes or no, and refrain from adding anything else. Anything beyond this is seen as coming from evil.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your mouth is the outward sign of your inner I AM. When you insist on 'yes' or 'no' only, you are aligning your speech with the one reality you inhabit. Any word beyond these is a confession of fear, a wandering thought about outcomes, a leakage of power into the uncertain world. Recognize that 'yea' and 'nay' are not commands to others alone but declarations about your inner state. To speak otherwise is to authorize a conflict between thought and deed, between imagination and form. The law I teach is simple: you are the dreamer and the word is the dream's gate. If you wish healing, success, or harmony, station your language in the unwavering certainty of I AM. Do not seek to persuade the outer; persuade the inner conviction until your speech becomes a natural expression of your inner state. In practice, keep your communications uncluttered, and let every word be the echo of the I AM within.

Practice This Now

Pause before communicating; breathe and declare, 'I am the I AM, and my word is yea or nay.' Imagine the reply arriving clearly, without resistance, as your inner state in form.
