Matthew 4:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
In Matthew 4:19, Jesus calls the fishermen to follow him. The promise is that, as they follow, they will be made fishers of men.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville Goddard, 'Follow me' is not a geographic itinerary but a shift of consciousness. The command invites you to enter the I AM state that Jesus embodies, a state in which you are already led by a higher intelligence. When you assume this inner direction, you discover that the making of fishermen of men is the natural fruit of your inner conversion, not a task you perform. Your outward calls and deeds flow from the conviction you hold about yourself: you are the type who draws others to truth by the light you radiate from within. The promise is a law of consciousness: as you dwell in the awareness that you are being guided, your life becomes a living invitation. Do not chase external results; instead revise your self-image until you consistently feel the I AM at work in you, and see how your circle is drawn to that light. The transformation begins inside, and the world answers in kind.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of one who follows the I AM now; silently declare, 'I am following the I AM and becoming a fisher of men.' Then feel the truth as a real sensation in your chest.
