Biblical Context
Hearing that John was cast into prison, Jesus departs to Galilee, signaling a shift from an external scene to the inner ground of awareness.
Neville's Inner Vision
When we read Matthew 4:12, the prison is not a political fate but a symbol of a belief within. John embodies the old stories of limitation—the ego that claims lack. The moment Jesus, the I AM within you, learns of this imprisonment, he does not retaliate; he in effect departs into Galilee, the inner land where awareness is free and the Kingdom of God is already present. Galilee represents a fresh field of consciousness, a place where you can awaken to the truth that God is near, not distant. This departure marks a turning of attention from the worn script to the living reality of being. The outer event of imprisonment thus becomes an invitation to revise the inner narrative until it aligns with divine reality: you are the I AM, and the Kingdom of God lives within you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise the outer report as a signal to depart into Galilee within your mind. Then affirm, I AM here, I depart from limitation, and feel the inner light of the Kingdom awakening.
