Matthew 27:9-10

Biblical Context

This passage states the fulfillment of prophecy: thirty pieces of silver were used and the field purchased with the money became a potter's field.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the thirty pieces as the value your mind places on what you call real. In this moment, the priests and elders symbolize your scattered beliefs, the fear and appetite that barter for seeming security. Yet the inner law—your I AM, the living awareness—simply notes, accepts, and generates. When the people give the silver to purchase a potter’s field, you are invited to see how your consciousness assigns a field in which to bury old, unneeded patterns and to lay the groundwork for new form. The potter’s field is not a place apart; it is the soil of your own mind where the old sense of lack is loosened and provision is allowed to emerge. The line “the Lord appointed me” points to the inner guidance that knows what is to be done and when. Thus, fulfillment occurs whenever you revise your valuation and assume the state of already having what you seek. The event is not outside you; it is the outward writing of your inner state. You are the I AM; your imagination shapes the field in which form appears.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, assume the state of having your provision now, and feel your mind’s field respond as if it already contains the amount or circumstance you desire. Keep that feeling for several breaths and revisit it whenever doubt arises.
