Scripture Focus

7There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
Matthew 26:7-9

Biblical Context

A woman anoints Jesus with a costly ointment. The disciples rebuke the act as waste, saying it could be sold to help the poor.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner tale, the alabaster box is your most precious belief. The ointment is the wealth of your realized state. Pouring it on the head of Jesus signifies consecrating the mind with the awareness that I AM is all, that the true Self already crowns your life. The disciples' indignation is the voice of the old social script—the habit of measuring usefulness and calling devotion waste. They claim the oil should be sold to feed the poor, but that demand is the poverty of mind speaking. The value you pour out does not diminish your source; it confirms the abundance of your inner state. Wealth and provision follow the act of setting your thoughts on the desired end with undivided attention. When you perceive devotion as the supreme investment, you no longer justify or revise toward external outcomes. You become the decree: I AM wealth, I AM provision, I AM the worship. The Christ within recognizes the act as complete, and you awaken to the inward offering that creates outward reality.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you already possess your desired abundance. Feel it real now as you pour the ointment of devotion over the crown of your mind, declaring I AM wealth.
