Biblical Context
During Jesus’ arrest and the Sanhedrin’s mock trial, the council seeks false witness to condemn him, and he answers with quiet restraint. The scene highlights how external judgment reflects inner beliefs and the choice to remain aware of one's true identity.
Neville's Inner Vision
All of this is not a history but a state of consciousness you have forgotten. The Caiaphas council and the witnesses are the voices of doubt appearing in your mind when you imagine yourself under the gaze of judgment. Jesus represents your true I AM, the Christ within, who remains quiet not from weakness but from absolute inner alignment. When the false witnesses cry out, they reveal the habit of thinking you must defend the self you 'are' in the world. The moment Jesus proclaims, 'Hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power,' is a proclamation of your own inner sovereignty—the awareness that you sit at the right hand of power inside. The ripping of the high priest's clothes is the dismantling of old conditioned self-images. Your task is to realize the trial is only an appearance—your awareness witnessing the play of appearances. By not clinging to the outer verdict, you free the imagination to convert fear into the feeling of authority.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I am the Christ, at the right hand of power within. See yourself calmly facing hostile voices and declare inwardly, 'I am free,' feeling the authority rise as real.
