I Am Facing the Moment
Matthew 26:55-56 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Matthew 26 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus faces a hostile crowd and notes he taught openly; the disciples desert him. The text presents these outer actions as part of fulfilling the prophets' words.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner theater, the hour when appearances press in is the very moment you discover that nothing external can alter your inner I AM. The crowd with swords and staves represents the air of fear, suspicion, and the habit of disbelieving your own truth. Jesus, the incarnate I AM, declares that he has been with them daily in the temple of awareness, yet they lay hold on the outer form; the 'scriptures' are not distant prophecies but the inevitable alignment of your consciousness when you finally trust the undeniable reality of your inner state. The disciples forsaking him is the old you turning away from the demand to remain steadfast; yet this departure is not a tragedy, but the shedding of a belief that your state is contingent on outer conditions. When you accept that these events exist to fulfill the inner law, you permit the inner Christ to rise by your chosen assumption. Practically, choose a moment when fear would seize you and say: I am the I AM, and this appearance is but the curtain before my established state.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is here now, in the midst of the appearance. Revise the scene by seeing the crowd fade while your inner state remains unshaken; feel it real by breathing deeply and repeating I AM.
