Seeing the Least as Me

Matthew 25:40 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 25 in context

Scripture Focus

40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:40

Biblical Context

The King declares that whatever is done for one of the least is done for Him; the verse names mercy as the doorway to recognizing God in every soul.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Me, the least of these is not a distant person but a signal from your own consciousness—your hidden states asking for love. When you choose to serve, you are not doing mercy for another; you are affirming that your I AM, aware presence, is the one who acts. The 'brethren' are aspects of you longing to be recognized, not strangers apart from God. In imagining yourself tending to them, you awaken the primal energy by which reality is born: awareness acting as both giver and receiving. The outer world then follows your inner movement, for imagination creates form. If you persist in feeling, 'I am already merciful; I am already in service,' the sense of separation dissolves and you live as the living embodiment of mercy. The King’s question is simply the inner recognition that you have become the act you judged others by; you have merged with the I AM and thus the world aligns with that truth.

Practice This Now

Imitate the practice for 2 minutes: close your eyes and envision the 'least' as a part of your own self needing care; offer nourishment with calm and bless them, then rest in the felt sense that the I AM within you is acting as mercy through you.
