Biblical Context
The master returns after a long time to reckon with how the servants used what was entrusted to them. It signals that accountability and faithful stewardship arise from inner disposition.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the lord as the I AM, the living awareness that sits behind every thought. The long time denotes the period when consciousness seems idle or asleep, and reckoneth with them is the inner audit by which belief is refined. The servants are states of mind, the talents their faculties—imagination, memory, energy—put to use. When you imagine and act in line with your true nature, you invest those gifts; when you neglect them, lack and fear accrue. The scene is not punishment but invitation: your inner master returns to align your inner world with your deepest sense of self. The Kingdom within is realized when you accept that you are already the creative power you seek. Practice at once by assuming the fulfilled state; feel the wealth, health, or peace as present fact, and let that assumption correct your inner condition so your outer world follows.
Practice This Now
In a quiet moment, assume the role of the master within and declare: 'I am the master within; I have faithfully tended all that was entrusted to me.' Feel it as real now; then imagine a moment of the inner master approving your stewardship.
