Biblical Context
Matthew 24:9-10 describes believers facing affliction, hatred from many, and even betrayal for the name of Jesus. It shows how fear, offense, and opposition arise when the outer world tests inner allegiance.
Neville's Inner Vision
All the outer persecution you perceive is a signal of an inner state. When you claim the I AM as your true awareness, you stop taking the world’s judgments as real threats and begin to read them as invitations to revision. The verse—that you will be afflicted, hated for the name’s sake, and betrayed—becomes a description of inner movements: fear, pride, doubt, and the impulse to defend the self. In Neville fashion, persist in the assumption that you are already protected by divine consciousness, and feel your unity with the I AM so intensely that the outer persecution feels less real. Each apparent betrayal or hate-filled word is a reminder to return to the inner silence where you know you are loved and unassailable. Your endurance is not endurance of suffering but endurance of faith: keep imagining from the end, revise the scene, and let the feelings of safety, belonging, and purpose fill you, and the world will adjust to the inner state.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling: I am the I AM, unshaken by any outward event. Revise a moment of judgment or betrayal by silently affirming this truth and feel the certainty as if it were happening now.
