Biblical Context
The verse uses carcase and eagles as inner symbols; wherever a decaying inner state resides, the corresponding thoughts and conditions gather. The line invites inner revision to alter what gathers.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the vantage of the I AM, the carcase is any fixed, decaying image you keep rehearsing in your mind as real. Wherever that image lives—inside your heart, your memory, your plan—there the eagles will gather in due season, drawn by the energy you invest. In this light, people and events are not separate acts but the natural fall-out of your inner assumption. The carcase signals a belief that something is lacking or fallen; the eagles are the very thoughts, feelings, and tendencies that confirm that belief, flocking to the field you have prepared with attention. To alter the scene, you do not chase the eagles; you revise the state that nourishes them. Assume the state you desire as already present; feel the wish fulfilled in your chest; let the old image die by not feeding it with fear or doubt. Persist in that revised state, and the outward gathering shifts toward your new inner atmosphere.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes; in a single scene, see yourself already living your desire, and feel it real now. Then revise any lingering lack until it dissolves.
