Inner Tribulation Shortened Time

Matthew 24:21-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 24 in context

Scripture Focus

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Matthew 24:21-22

Biblical Context

Matthew 24:21-22 speaks of unprecedented tribulation, but for the elect—the awakened I AM within—those days are shortened through inner conviction and a shift in perception.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember, the world of Matthew’s words is not out there but within you. The great tribulation he speaks of is the inner pressure of fear, doubt, and belief in separation. The elect is your abiding I AM—your true awareness that never abandons its throne. When you assent to that I AM and refuse to identify with the storm, you shorten the days. Time is a fabric woven by belief; imagining that you are held safe by the I AM collapses the illusion of endless trial. The moment you affirm, 'I am the I AM that transcends this,' you shift the inner tempo. Your inner weather clears not by pleading but by revision: you rewrite the story from danger to protection, from struggle to awakening. The so-called 'great tribulation' becomes the birth pang of a new sense of self—one that cannot be shaken by appearances. Thus the shortening of days is not fate but your decision to stand in the eternal now where the elect reside, serene and untroubled by surface events.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and declare, 'I AM the I AM.' Then revise any fear into safety, feeling the sustained presence of the elect anchoring your moment, and imagine the days shortening into peace.
