Inner Light Over False Glow

Matthew 23:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 23 in context

Scripture Focus

27Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
28Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Matthew 23:27-28

Biblical Context

The passage condemns outward sanctimony while the heart remains unclean inside. It warns that appearances can mask inner hypocrisy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Matthew 23:27-28 invites you to SEE the difference between outward polish and inner condition. The whitened tomb is not punishment of others but a mirror of your own mind when you cling to form while the life within is neglected. The I AM—the one awareness you truly are—knows that righteousness without truth is a shadow, a shell, a hollow appearance that others may admire but does not satisfy the soul. When you identify with such a state, you live among dead bones of fear, pride, and habit. Yet consciousness is ever fresh; imagination is the creative power by which you revise your world. To heal, do not chase the outer signs. Assume the inner state you desire: integrity, purity, authenticity. Feel it as already received in the now; let the inner image displace the old bones with living light. As you dwell in the sense of being clean from the within, your actions, words, and relations will reflect that truth, not the old hypocrisy.

Practice This Now

Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and affirm: I AM the pure consciousness, untarnished by appearances. See the inner temple being washed with light; feel the truth of integrity returning to the self.
