Altar Within Inner Sanctum
Matthew 23:19-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus rebukes swearing by outward things like the altar, temple, and heaven, pointing to the deeper truth that sanctification begins in the inner state of consciousness. True fidelity arises from your inner oneness with the I AM, not from external forms.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the vantage of the I AM, the altar you swear by is a symbol of your present consciousness, not a stone. The gift is sanctified not by the altar, but by the inner witness that sanctifies your awareness. When you pledge by outward forms—altar, temple, heaven—you are confessing a truth you have not yet fully realized: that the power to bless and bind resides in your inner being. The true binding is with the higher reality you already are, the I AM that sits as your perpetual throne. Thus true worship is to turn from exterior worship to the interior sacrament: the realization that you are the sanctuary, the altar, and the throne. In practice, every gesture, every vow, becomes sacred because it takes place under the light of your inner consciousness. See the altar as the mind’s focus, the temple as a state of awareness, and heaven as your prevailing I AM. Then the outward life will reflect holiness because it is animated by the inner sanctity you already possess.
Practice This Now
Pause before any vow today; silently declare 'I AM is the altar and the throne' and feel the inner sanctification extending to the gift you offer. Let the outer form be sealed by your inner awareness.
