Biblical Context
Jesus says they err because they do not know the scriptures or the power of God. He asserts that in the resurrection life continues and that God is the God of the living.
Neville's Inner Vision
Be aware that the I AM you are is not a relic of the past but the living presence here and now. When Jesus says you err for not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God, he invites you to stop treating Scripture as a rule book and to feel its force in your own consciousness. The resurrection is not a distant event but the awakening that your inner life continues beyond the appearances of mortal form; you are not bound by marriage, nor by any outward structure, but are like the angels—fluid, free, and alive in Spirit. The clause 'I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob' proclaims that the God who spoke to them is the same I AM within you today. God is not the God of the dead but of the living because life is a continuous act of awareness. Your present assumption—your imagined feeling—creates the conditions you call reality. If you identify with living consciousness, you enter the kingdom now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your chest, and declare inwardly, "I am the I AM, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, living now within me." Then revise any sense of separation by feeling the present life as my constant reality.
