Biblical Context
In Matthew 21:25-27, the Jewish leaders refuse to declare whether John's baptism comes from heaven or from men, revealing their allegiance to public opinion over truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
Matthew 21:25–27 is a map of states, not a debate about history. John’s baptism is the cleansing impulse that awakens when the I AM becomes aware of its own authority. “From heaven” and “of men” are two conditions of consciousness: the inner alignment with divine order, or the surrender to outward opinions. The bosses in the story refuse to name which governs them because they cannot decide which state rules their life. In your life, you have likewise wavered between following a truth you know in your heart and placating the crowd. Neville would remind you that you are not bound by the crowd; the only authority is the I AM you awaken to. When you assume the feeling of this truth—your baptism as heaven-born—your acts and circumstances begin to harmonize with it. The outer “authority” Jesus speaks through is the inner alignment of your mind. Persist in that alignment, and the world will answer from heaven with the sure, quiet movement of your own life.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and, in your mind, declare that your baptism is heaven-born. Feel the I AM as the source of your power, and imagine your days moving in harmony with that inner truth.
