21And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
Matthew 20:21

Biblical Context

In Matthew 20:21, a mother asks Jesus for seats of honor for her two sons, exposing the pull of outward status. The passage signals that true authority begins within, in the kingdom of consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Matthew 20:21 presents a request for seat positions as a cue to an inner disposition. In the Neville frame, the kingdom is a state of consciousness, not a place you go to. The mother’s plea reveals a belief that power comes from without; yet Jesus redirects attention to inner ruling. You are the I AM, the awareness that can claim authority by assuming a present state. When you yearn for the right hand or the left, you are naming a separation between essence and power; revise it: you already stand in the throne-room of your own mind by virtue of your awareness. See the two seats as your faculties—discernment and action—governed by one consistent consciousness. As you hold the vision that you are seated in the kingdom now, you relax the need for permission from any other and let the world reflect your inner state. Imagination, revision, and feeling-it-real become the instrument by which you translate this inner state into experience.

Practice This Now

Sit, close your eyes, and declare 'I am seated in the kingdom now.' Feel the seat beneath you, breathe I AM presence, and dwell in that consciousness for a minute.
