Inner Crucifixion to Resurrection
Matthew 20:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus is handed to Gentile powers to be mocked, scourged, and crucified, and he rises again on the third day.
Neville's Inner Vision
View this scene as an inner drama, not a past event. The Gentiles are states of consciousness—the crowd of doubt, fear, and habit—into which the mind is handed when it forgets the I AM. The mocking, the scourging, and the crucifixion are inner movements: the old self being stripped away by the recognition that identity is not in form but in God. The third day rise is the present waking to a renewed life, the I AM affirming itself as your only reality. In Neville's practice, appearances do not create change; awareness does. When you assume the feeling of the fulfilled state, you empower the resurrection already completed in consciousness. The Jesus who endures the trial is your higher Self, not a separate person; the resurrection is the realization that nothing of the outer world can negate your eternal life. Imagination is your instrument: dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled and let it re-script the scene.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and feel the I AM as your constant awareness. Revise the scene by affirming 'I am risen now' and entrust the outer life to the inner life.
