Biblical Context
Matthew 20:1-4 depicts a householder hiring laborers at dawn and again later, promising to pay what is right; the parable points to the kingdom of heaven as an inner order guided by the I AM, not by hours worked.
Neville's Inner Vision
The parable is a map of consciousness. The householder within you is the I AM—awareness that dispenses value and sufficiency. The penny stands for rightness—the felt certainty that all is well because you are eternally known. The early hirelings embody your initial awakenings; the third hour, where others stand idle, marks times you have forgotten to tend your inner vineyard. When the command goes forth—Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you—it is the inner law of supply: as you enter the vineyard of your mind, the right reward appears in exact measure to your current state. The kingdom of heaven is thus a present inner condition, not a distant place. By revising beliefs from lack to fullness and by feeling the wish fulfilled now, you align with the I AM and draw a new outer reality into alignment with your inner sufficiency.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state that you are already in receipt of what is rightfully yours; feel the I AM paying you in advance and step into your inner vineyard, acting from that assured, felt reality.
