Matthew 19:13-15

Biblical Context

Jesus welcomes the children; the kingdom of heaven is found in a childlike openness within consciousness, not by rank. The inner scene invites us to recognize that the kingdom is here now as awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

The incident is not about literal youngsters but about the state of your own consciousness. The disciples’ rebuke mirrors the world’s habit of keeping life small and controlling; the king of heaven does not enter any gate but through the heart that is receptive like a child. When you hear 'for of such is the kingdom of heaven,' you are being reminded that the kingdom is not future currency earned by effort but an established mode of awareness—the I AM in you, presently awake. The act of bringing little ones to Jesus and laying hands upon them is symbolic of impressing your own mind with blessing, infusing it with the truth that your ordinary self is a vessel of the divine. Pray, not as a petition for something outside, but as a reaffirmation that God, your awareness, is already loving and perfect. To accept them is to permit the natural state of wonder to reign; this is the kingdom in operation within you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine a gentle scene where you are brought to Jesus, and he places his hands on you. Feel the warm acceptance, and in that moment declare, 'I am the I AM; the kingdom is now within me.'
