Inner Presence Arise: Fear Not

Matthew 17:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 17 in context

Scripture Focus

7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
Matthew 17:7-8

Biblical Context

Jesus touches the disciples and tells them to Arise and not be afraid; when they look up, they see no man but Jesus only, symbolizing the inner Presence replacing outer fear.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine the scene as a revelation of your inner state. The touch of Jesus is the awakening of the I AM within you; 'Arise' is the command to lift attention from outward appearances into the throne of consciousness. 'Be not afraid' is the proclamation that fear is a belief, not a fact. When they lifted their eyes and saw no man, save Jesus only, you are invited to disregard the crowd of fears and distractions and behold the indwelling Presence. In this Neville-psychology, you are not the body reacting to life but the awareness that perceives it. By assuming the state of fearless, awake consciousness and feeling it real, you align with the truth that you already possess the Presence. Then the world rearranges to confirm the inner state: peace replaces turmoil, unity overcomes separation, and the sense of loss gives way to Shalom. The moment you accept this as your natural condition, you discover you have never truly been apart from the Presence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and, with a soft inner touch, affirm 'Arise, I am not afraid.' See the outer scene fade and the only visible reality be the inner Presence, and stay with that feeling for a minute.
