The Heart's Inner Thoughts
Matthew 15:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Matthew 15:19 teaches that evil thoughts originate in the heart, a symbol for the inner state. By shifting that inner life, outward actions align with a new pattern.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the inner observer, the heart is a state of consciousness, not a crime ledger. When Matthew says out of the heart, he reveals that thoughts precede deeds and that the inner weather conditions the outer world. The words do not condemn you; they invite you to assume responsibility for the inner atmosphere of your being. You are the I AM, awareness that imagines itself, and reality answers to that imagination. Evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, thefts, blasphemies are not separate entities; they are movements of a mind aligned with fear or habit. To transform them, do not chase them with force but revise your sense of self. Assume in the now a state in which you would prefer to function: peace, integrity, purity. Feel it real; let that inner scene occupy your attention until certainty thickens. As you dwell there, your imagination works on the subconscious and outward circumstances re-form to match the inner vision. The inside explains the outside; the heart's movement becomes your world.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and declare I AM the I AM; I dwell in purity now. Then imagine a brief scene in which you act from that state and feel it real.
