Inner Defilement Through Speech

Matthew 15:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 15 in context

Scripture Focus

10And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Matthew 15:10-11

Biblical Context

Defilement is not about food, but the inner state expressed in what you utter. Purity depends on your inner truth, not external meals.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, consider that Jesus did not condemn foods but revealed the law of consciousness: nothing from without defiles you; it is the speech and tone that proceeds from your inner man. What you allow your mind to believe and your heart to feel makes its appearance in your words. The mouth speaks from the fountain of the heart; therefore defilement is a misperception of the self, a belief that life is separate from the I AM. When you align your inner state with the unseen reality of your true nature, your words will clear. If you would know purity, do not chase external ritual; revise the living idea you hold about yourself. Imagine you are already the speaker you intend to be: defined by truth, kindness, consistency, and fearless obedience to your higher self. In that state, every utterance will reflect integrity and your outer world will follow suit. The 'defilement' you fear is the memory of doubt; replace it with the certainty that you are the I AM, imagining and feeling that fullness now, and your mouth will speak accordingly.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state of purity, and declare, 'I am pure; my words proceed from a truthful inner I AM.' Feel that fullness as though it is already yours, and listen for the new cadence of your speech.
