Be of Good Cheer Within

Matthew 14:27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 14 in context

Scripture Focus

27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
Matthew 14:27

Biblical Context

Jesus tells the disciples to be of good cheer because the I AM presence is with them, and fear should yield to awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the words are not a distant miracle but a doorway into your own consciousness. The 'it is I' is the recognition that the I AM, the conscious you, is eternally present, even when the seas of circumstance are rough. Fear arises when you forget who you are; cheer arises when you remember that you are not stirred by waves but by the awareness that you are waves within a larger sea of being. In this view, Jesus is the living I AM within every man, speaking to the part of you that doubts. When you claim, 'Be of good cheer,' you are aligning with the state of right-now awareness; when you hear 'it is I,' you affirm that the inner I AM is the only reality, and what you see externally is a projection of inner conditions. By dwelling in that presence, you will find peace, trust, and a natural joy that calms anxiety and brings forth action from a center of assuredness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and step into the I AM. Assume the calm, radiantly present Self as the core of your being; declare, 'I am the presence that calms every wave,' and stay with that sensation until fear dissolves.
