Matthew 13:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 13 in context

Scripture Focus

14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Matthew 13:14-15

Biblical Context

These verses describe Isaiah's prophecy: people hear and see, yet do not understand because their hearts are hardened. Until they turn inward, conversion and healing remain blocked.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage you must recognize that hearing and seeing are states of consciousness, not mere events. The prophecy is fulfilled whenever your present state resists conversion and healing. A hardened heart, dull ears, and closed eyes indicate a mind clinging to limitation; the remedy is a deliberate inner revision. By choosing an awakened I AM—the awareness within you—you invite perception to align with truth, and healing to unfold as a natural consequence of inner conversion. The healing promised is the transformation of your inner posture: from doubt to faith, from hardness to receptivity. To fulfill the prophecy, stop seeking healing outside and begin the inner adjustment: assume you are already healed, that you understand now, and that your inner sight is clear. As you persist in this new state, the outer world slowly aligns with it, and the interior conversion becomes your lived reality. Remember: God is your I AM; perception follows the state you inhabit.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the healed state: 'I now hear with understanding and see with an open heart.' Feel this as real until your inner perception shifts.
