Sitting by the Sea Within

Matthew 13:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 13 in context

Scripture Focus

1The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
Matthew 13:1-2

Biblical Context

Jesus steps out by the sea, and a great crowd gathers; he moves into a boat while the people stand on the shore. The scene frames inner gathering and the shifting disposition of awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene the sea is not a mere geography but the boundary of your consciousness. The crowd represents the multitude of thoughts, desires, and beliefs that press upon your attention. Jesus stepping into the boat symbolizes your mind taking form and steadiness within a vessel of awareness. The shore signifies outward life, where appearances press from without; the boat provides a safe vantage point from which you can observe with calm discernment. The movement from house to sea-side invites you to shift from a familiar self-image to the still I AM behind every event. The crowd within is not adversarial but a signal of vibrational states seeking alignment with your unity. When you, as the I AM, settle in the boat and look upon the sea of imagination, you permit impressions to pass without compulsion, and you discover that reality is the consistent result of your consciousness waking to its own embodiment.

Practice This Now

Assume the scene now: you are the I AM, seated in a boat on the Sea of your imagination; let the crowd dissolve into quiet listening as you feel the inner reality that creates.
