Matthew 10:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Matthew 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus instructs the disciples to proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is near and to act with compassionate power. He links healing and liberation to the grace they have freely received.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the ear that seeks psyche more than history, Matthew 10:7-8 recasts the call as a declaration of your own inner world. 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand' is not a future event; it is the dawning awareness of I AM active in you now. The healings, cleansings, and exorcisms are the outward signs of an inner alignment. You are not commanded to perform miracles as a stranger; you are asked to awaken to the reality you already carry: the power to transform sensation into peace, belief into relief, limitation into fullness. Freely you have received operates as a law of consciousness: the generous flow of energy within your own nature is to be shared, not earned. When you lay hold of this, your thoughts, feelings, and actions become the instruments by which others awaken. The 'devils' to cast out are stubborn habits and fears; the dead to raise are dormant possibilities awaiting identification as real. So the practice is not a technique but a reorientation: assume the reality of the kingdom, feel its healing force, and let your giving be the natural expression of that state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: sit quietly and assume the state 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand,' feeling its healing power as a present sensation. Then move through your day as if that state is real, freely giving the energy you have received.
