Biblical Context
These verses describe inner loyalty and outward hostility, urging endurance and movement to the next inner doorway as you follow the Christ within.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the seeker, these lines are not about outward events but about states of consciousness. The brother who betrays and the father who opposes you are inner angles of your own mind resisting the new state you imagine. When you incline toward the Name, the I AM becomes your sole allegiance; people may resist or hate that shift, yet endurance proves you have entered a new kingdom within. The injunction to flee to another city is not panic but a shift of attention from one worn-out thought to the next doorway of awareness. You shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of Man comes signals that the Christ within must awaken before outer conditions fully transform. Practice in imagination is to dwell in the feeling of being loved, guided, and protected by the I AM while opposition arises, knowing the end-state—your divine inheritance—is already present in you.
Practice This Now
In a quiet moment, assume the feeling 'I AM' is the true aura around me, enduring outer trial. Revise any opposing thought by affirming, 'I am saved; the Son of Man has come within,' and feel it real.
