Awakening Joseph Within

Matthew 1:24-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Matthew 1 in context

Scripture Focus

24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Matthew 1:24-25

Biblical Context

Joseph wakes from sleep, follows the angel's command, marries Mary, and Jesus is born; he refrains from intimate relations until the birth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Joseph’s dream-turned-action is not a history lesson but a map of consciousness. The angel is the I AM speaking within you, the inner decree that aligns your outer world with your true nature. When Joseph rises and takes Mary, he embodies a state of awareness that has chosen to obey the inner command rather than the surface impulse. The ‘knew her not till she had brought forth’ describes a mind disciplined enough to refrain from acting until the divine order appears; the name Jesus is the fruit of this ordered state, the realization that the savior you seek is already within your own consciousness. In your life, these verses invite you to wake from a sleep of limitation, listen for the inner visitation, and act from the assurance that your assumed relationship with the inner voice births the visible world you call reality. Imagination creates reality; imagine the inner covenant is already kept, and the world will reflect that unity.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, rise from the sleep of limitation, and assume you are guided by your inner voice. Revise a current situation by affirming you already obey that voice and feel the certainty of its guidance.
