Tabernacles Of The Inner Self

Mark 9:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 9 in context

Scripture Focus

5And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Mark 9:5-6

Biblical Context

Peter suggests building tabernacles to honor the sacred moment. The disciples are afraid and do not know what to say.

Neville's Inner Vision

Peter's remark is not a plan for architecture, but a sign of the state of consciousness seeking to pin down the living Presence. The 'here' is your current awareness, and the three tabernacles signify mind-made frames—ego, memory, and tradition—trying to fix a revelation by external signs. Their fear is the voice of the old self resisting the unknown within. Neville would say: God is the I AM, and the thunderous voice that comes from the cloud is your own awareness affirming, This is my beloved Son here and now. The true worship is not external ceremony but the recognition that the Presence fills all, dissolving the hunger for walls and markers. When you feel drawn to set up a shrine, notice that you are being invited to dissolve it back into living consciousness. The remedy is simple: assume you are already in the state you seek, and dwell there with unwavering certainty until the feeling of separation vanishes and union remains.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, place a hand on your heart, and silently declare I AM here now. Feel the oneness until fear dissolves and the Presence remains.
