Purification by fire, in this sense, is not punishment but the clarifying blaze of your own awareness. The fire is the heat of consciousness that burns away the false images you have taken as self, until the I AM alone remains steady and radiant. Salt represents the covenant of your inner state—an unchanging essence that seasons every offering you make to life. When you offer kindness, courage, or a dream, you do so already seasoned with that salt, so your acts are not driven by fear but by an abiding sense, I AM. The word sacrifice becomes a synonym for deliberate imagination: you present a scene and dwell in its feeling until it is more real to you than the current appearance. The purification occurs the moment you refuse to identify with limitation and revise the scene inwardly until your feeling attitude matches the state you desire. Remember, every person in the drama is you belovedly choosing your own state; the outer world reflects the inner covenant you keep in consciousness.
