Mark 9:38-40 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 9 in context

Scripture Focus

38And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40For he that is not against us is on our part.
Mark 9:38-40

Biblical Context

John tried to forbid a man casting out demons in Jesus’ name because he didn’t follow the group. Jesus answered that true power isn’t limited to a circle; if a miracle is done in His name, the doer isn’t against Him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the scene is your inner state. The 'man casting out devils' in my name stands for a power or quality arising in your own consciousness, even if it has not joined your immediate circle. I do not forbid him, for true power in my name does not depend on your tribe; it depends on alignment with love and truth. When a miracle occurs, it speaks not against me but for a deeper harmony in the field of consciousness. To say 'not against us is on our part' is to say: in your mind there is only one field, and any act of good that serves Life belongs to you. In your recognition of this, you free yourself from petty exclusivity and invite a broader inheritance of miracles, because you are not separate from the good others do. See yourself as the I AM, and everything that resonates with love is your own living proof of unity.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise: 'I am not against anyone; all genuine good is on my side.' Then feel a warm inner light of unity expanding beyond boundaries, inviting miracles through every right endeavour.
