Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus places a child in the midst to symbolize humble reception. The act of receiving such a child in my name points to recognizing and welcoming the inner, childlike state as the channel to Christ and the Father.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville's ear, the child is not merely a personage; the child is a state of consciousness—open, teachable, unguarded, and trusting. When Jesus takes the child in his arms, he invites you to enter a state of humble receptivity, the very posture by which the I AM may operate through you. To receive 'one of such children in my name' is to acknowledge that every impression of the world—people, situations, even thoughts—are sent by the Father; to welcome them is to welcome the sending of God. The Kingdom of God is not distant but present as your current stance toward life. If you resist or over-control, you block the flow; if you soften and receive, you align with the divine order and the son or daughter of God emerges in you as you. Humility here is not self-deprecation but quiet trust—an inner posture that lets imagination shape reality. As you align with this inner child, your imagination becomes the doorway through which the I AM enters your world.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the inner child in your arms; affirm, 'I receive you now, in my name, and I am received by the Father.' Feel the sense of being held by God, and let that trust saturate your next moment.
