Inner Bread, Clear Seeing

Mark 8:14-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 8 in context

Scripture Focus

14Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
17And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
19When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
20And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
21And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
Mark 8:14-21

Biblical Context

The disciples worry about lack of bread, while Jesus invites them to see leaven as a symbol of belief that clouds perception. He emphasizes that true nourishment and understanding come from within, not from external supply.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your bread is a symbol of your inner provision. The leaven of the Pharisees and Herod is belief—fear, pride, and habit—that makes you mistake appearances for truth. The disciples point to lack, but Jesus points inward: the true miracle is awakening to the I AM that feeds you. When you remember the five thousand and the four thousand, you remember that supply follows your state of consciousness, not external abundance. Having eyes you see with inner memory; having ears you hear with inner hearing; and you do remember, if you choose to revise. How is it that you do not understand? It asks you to revise your state—to drop the idea of 'no bread' and claim, 'I AM the bread I seek.' In this shift, the ships of circumstance realign to your inner certainty.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of abundance now: say, 'I AM the bread I seek,' and feel the fullness rise in your chest; hold that feeling for a few breaths and observe the outer situation easing into alignment.
