Compassion Feeds the Multitude

Mark 8:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 8 in context

Scripture Focus

1In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
2I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
3And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
Mark 8:1-3

Biblical Context

A great crowd is hungry, and Jesus is moved by their need. He shows that true provision arises from inner care rather than waiting on external means.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the multitude is a figure of your own crowded thoughts and desires, the hungry mass of 'what I lack' pressing upon your awareness. When Jesus says, I have compassion on the multitude, it is the I AM in you answering the call of feeling. The three days they have been with me is a hint that you must not abandon the state you are in until it becomes permanent; you must remain in the feeling of sufficiency until it is your default. Their being without food points to lack born of attention to appearances; if I send them away fasting, they will faint by the way, you may faint in the old habit of scarcity. Do not send them away; revise the scene as if nourishment is present now. The inner supply is not an external miracle but a realization: the bread is your own awareness, the feeding is the witnessing of fullness. Divers of them came from far means that even distant thoughts and conditions are fed by this same inner provision. Stay in the state of compassionate abundance, and the external scene must conform to your inward assumption.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and silently declare, 'I am the provision.' Feel the fullness as if the crowd is fed and nourished by your inner state; stay with that sensation for a minute.
