Inner Purity From Within

Mark 7:14-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 7 in context

Scripture Focus

14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Mark 7:14-16

Biblical Context

Jesus teaches that defilement comes from within, not from external things. Purity is found in inner states and the movements of the heart.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the Neville Goddard mold: You are not touched by the world; you are the I AM seeing through your own consciousness. The so-called defilement is only the inner reaction you tolerate—the fear, judgments, and cravings that spring from your imagined separation. When you hear the words heal to your own heart, know that nothing entering from without can disturb your true state; only your own outflowing thoughts can contaminate the sense of self. The verse invites a radical shift: act as if you are already pure, and the external appearances will reflect that inner condition. The inner movement of your imagination creates your experience; therefore, imagine yourself as unassailable, the witness of every event, and revise any moment that would say otherwise. In this view, holiness is not a ritual but a steady alignment with the I AM, a trust in the fact that your inner nature defines your reality. Listen within, and answer with your own unalterable state of being.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the I AM as your center; revise any troubling thought by declaring that nothing from without can defile you, and feel your inner purity shaping the next moment.
