Honored at Home: The Prophet Within

Mark 6:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 6 in context

Scripture Focus

4But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mark 6:4

Biblical Context

A prophet tends to be honored where he is known, but not among his own country, kin, or home. The verse points to the power of inner perception in shaping recognition.

Neville's Inner Vision

View this verse as a mirror of your own consciousness. The 'prophet' is the inner voice, the I AM that speaks through your thoughts. 'Honor' is not something given by others but a state you grant to yourself within your mind. 'In his own country, among his own kin, in his own house' represent the familiar beliefs and the self-image you keep in the daily routine. When you seek praise from this circle, you may feel the sting of non-recognition, yet this is a signal to revise the inner scene, not the outer world. The life you wish to impart to others begins by assuming it already exists within you. Practice the art of feeling the wish fulfilled: imagine yourself, the prophet within, fully honored in your own space. Remember that God is the I AM—the awareness in which all scenes are projected. If your circle does not acknowledge your gift, turn inward and declare, 'I am the honored one,' and let that inner decree reorganize your thoughts, words, and actions. As you dwell in that inner acknowledgment, your outer life slowly harmonizes with the new image.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes; revise the scene in your imagination so those closest to you honor and listen to your message. Feel the joy of being seen, then carry that inner state into your day.
