Desert Rest Awakening

Mark 6:31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Mark 6 in context

Scripture Focus

31And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31

Biblical Context

Jesus invites the disciples to withdraw from the crowds to a quiet place and rest.

Neville's Inner Vision

That invitation is not to physical travel but to a shift of awareness. The desert place is the inner silence of the mind where the I AM can rest from restless thoughts and self-importance. When the story says 'come apart' it is you stepping out of the crowded sense of lack and need into the still, sure presence that you ARE. The many are your thoughts and duties; the lack of leisure signals a belief that you are ruled by appearances. Neville: awaken to the truth that God-consciousness, the I AM, is always present, even when you feel pressed by time. In rest, your imagination ceases to chase and it begins to perceive; creation moves in harmony with your inner posture. The moment you assume rest as your state, you reorder events, appetites, and relationships to reflect that peace. This is renewal—the new creation blooming first in consciousness as you treat your awareness as the only reality.

Practice This Now

Imagine you are already in that desert place of quiet, and feel the I AM resting there now; repeat 'I AM at rest' until the body softens.
