Biblical Context
In Mark 6:24–26, a daughter asks the king to execute John the Baptist; the king grants the request to fulfill his oath, though he is deeply sorrowful.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the king is the ruler of your outward drama—the part that swears by appearances and keeps vows for social safety. The daughter represents a pressing impulse to gain the visible result; John's head is the symbol of a piercing truth you would bury to keep peace. In Neville's method, the scene is not about history but about your states of consciousness. You are the I AM; you can revise the outcome by assuming a higher law. See the oath dissolving as you realize the I AM does not owe allegiance to fear or appetite. The head of the Baptist becomes the living truth you allow to live in your mind, and the king's sorrow is simply the moment you release the old vow. When you revise, you realize you have kept your integrity; you stand with truth no matter what appears, and the inner governor acts in harmony with justice. The result is not the removal of suffering but its transmutation into clarity—the inner scene now reflects righteousness, and John's voice is heard within you as a guiding principle that cannot be crucified by a moment's demand.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as king who cannot betray truth for appearance. Revise the scene now so John's message remains alive within you, and feel the relief of integrity rise as if it were real.
