Presence Within the House
Mark 6:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Mark 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus instructs the disciples to stay in a house while ministering. If they are not received, they depart and shake off the dust as a testimony against the unresponsive.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Mark 6:10-11, the commanded stay in a house becomes a living image of remaining in a chosen state of consciousness until the inner movement completes. Each house you enter is a mental state you cultivate with attention and presence, and a true inner witnessing occurs only as you remain there with unwavering aim. If the inhabitants—representing resistant beliefs or habitual thoughts—do not receive your message, you do not argue outwardly; you perform the symbolic act of shaking off the dust, releasing the old belief as a cleansing of your mental atmosphere. This dusting is not a stubbornness but a disciplined act of clearance, making room for the new state to take root. The harsher judgment on that city points to inner accountability: clinging to fixed thoughts multiplies the sense of separation within you. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as warnings against entrenched, immovable attitudes; they crumble when confronted by a state that refuses to be coerced or cajoled. By choosing a receptive, imaginative atmosphere and releasing the dust of limitation, you affirm that the kingdom you seek already dwells in you. Your task is to awaken to the consciousness that enters and fulfills.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine entering a room as the current state of your consciousness. Stay there mentally until the inner sense confirms you have completed its purpose, then silently release a limiting belief and step into the next spacious state.
