Inner Homecoming of Christ
Mark 6:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Mark 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus leaves one place and returns to his hometown, with his disciples following. The scene suggests returning to one's true inner home where presence and mission arise.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of this verse as a dream of consciousness. 'Home' is the state of awareness you deem as your own; when Jesus returns to his country, the inner Self revisits that state, and the 'disciples'—the faculties of belief, reason, and attention—follow the prevailing vision you hold of God within. The presence of God is not a distant event but the I AM in you, shining as everyday seeing, deciding, and acting. Your imagination is the vehicle by which you dwell in that inner home and bring it to form; your mission and witness arise as you persist in that inner stance, even when familiar opinions resist. The act of obedience is simply the habit of returning to the inner ground you have chosen, and faithfulness is the consistency of feeling-it-real that says, I am here, I am whole, I am now. When you anchor in that inner home, the outer scene aligns with your inner decision, and the followers move in harmony with that decision.
Practice This Now
Practice: Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I am in my true home now.' Then imagine the scene of your day unfolding with the inner presence guiding every action, and let the feeling-it-real carry you.
