Biblical Context

Jesus takes the girl by the hand, commands her to arise, and she immediately rises; those nearby are astonished.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, the scene is a parable of consciousness: the girl is a facet of your own being, long deemed dead by doubt. Talitha cumi is the I AM speaking to that facet: arise. When you hear that command within, you are not petitioning an outside event; you are recalling the self-sufficient life that your belief calls forth. The age twelve is the completeness of a cycle within your inner world ready to walk again. The astonishment of onlookers is the surprise of your old state at meeting the new you—proof that a shift in consciousness has occurred. The healing rests in your willingness to accept the voice that comes from within, not from without. The spoken word is intentional imagination: you assume the feeling of truth and let it resound through your nervous system until the body and circumstances reflect the awakened state. This is the true resurrection: a change of state of consciousness, not merely a change of scene.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes. Hear the command 'Damsel, arise' in your mind. Place your hand on the area you deem lifeless and repeat the command with the feeling of truth until you sense the awakening.
