41And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Mark 4:41

Biblical Context

The disciples witness Jesus’ command over wind and sea, and fear and astonishment rise. They wonder at the source of his authority.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here, the tempest outside reflects a tempest within, the mind unsettled by fear until you recognize the one who speaks within. The disciples' question, What manner of man is this? is your own cry when you wake to the fact that you are not a spectator but the very living I AM. The wind and sea obey because they respond to the consciousness that lords it over form. As you repeatedly assume the truth that you are the I AM, you discover that the storm outside calms, not by pleading to some distant deity, but by aligning your inner state with divine law. The man they see is the identity you have become in imagination—imagination is the power that generates weather in your life. When you feel the awe that God is present here and now, you are that presence, and nature yields to your word. Remember: nothing happens to you; everything you experience is a sign of your inner state becoming visible.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and declare I AM the wind and the sea obeying my command. Feel the emotion of mastery until it registers as present fact.
